Never Dry - Wreck n' Reef -Beginners
Introductory Diving
If you've never tried scuba diving before and do not have the time to do a full blown course, why not try diving on one of our half day Discover Scuba Diving programs.
What's involved?
Introductory diving requires no previous diving experience. If you are able to swim, you can usually dive. You will be asked to fill out some paperwork, including a medical statement. You will be given a briefing outlining what is involved (usually about 20 minutes). This briefing will outline the procedures that will make your experience a safe and unforgettable one.
Once we're in the water you will start by practicing with your equipment on the surface and only when you're comfortable with those skills it's time to dive!!! For your first diving experience there will be a maximum of 2 divers with 1 instructor. The supervision is very close at all times. You will go to a maximum depth of 6m and these dives generally last around 30 to 40 minutes.
During the dive you can expect to see Tenerife's underwater world in all its glory - You will discover excitement and adventure - freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater.
Minimum Age: 10 years. Students younger than 15 who successfully complete the course qualify for the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification, which they may upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver certification upon reaching 15.
Physical: For safety, all students complete a brief questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, you sign the form and you're ready to start. If any of these apply to you, as a safety precaution your physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you're fit to dive. In some areas, local laws require all scuba students to consult with a physician before entering the course.
Diving is a sport enjoyed by many, many people all over the world, and there are many parts of the world you can enjoy it, but be warned, once hooked no vacation itinerary will be made without some sort scuba dive included in it. The best choice for the first-timer is an Introductory Dive, also known as a "Discover Scuba" or a "Try Dive". The three terms all basically mean the same thing - a way to get wet, experience the sensation and see our friendly resident turtle (Gilbert), all whilst under very close supervision of an instructor.
