Course structure... What you can expect

Day 1: Before we begin the PADI Rescue diver course we first learn about first aid. The PADI EFR course is an internationally recognized CPR Primary care & Secondary care course.

Day 2: We begin the day with an introduction and knowledge development session which will prepare you with the principles of the rescue diver course. We will follow on with a skill development session in confined water. Here you will learn self rescue & recognition of a distressed diver both underwater and on the surface along with the techniques used to assist a diver.

Day 3: We continue with some more knowledge development, reviewing what you have learned in yourself study exercises. We will discuss war stories that our instructors have experienced and amuse you with tails of the deep. Our instructors have developed an enviable skill of making the classroom time as much fun as the diving itself.

The afternoon of the second day will start with a search & recovery exercise, simulating the need to locate a missing diver. You will then learn how to surface an unconscious diver and perform rescue breaths whilst removing equipment. We will further discuss the use and procedures involving emergency oxygen and review CPR procedures.

Day 4: You will be given your final multiple choice exam in the morning and fine tune your understanding of Rescue procedures. The afternoon of the third day is when the real fun begins. You will be given 4 realistic accident scenarios involving the entire Wreck n Reef team. Over the years Wreck n Reef has become very experienced in performing very theatrical and exciting performances for the final rescue scenarios. Unfortunately! We cannot explain what’s involved during the final 4 scenarios because it will spoil the surprise and the theatrical role play performed by the instructors.
